The 6th edition of the inter-Disciplinary Underground Science & Technology (i-DUST 2016) international conference took place in the wonderful premises of the University d'Avignon et du Pays de Vaucluse in the centre of Avignon on June 1–3, 2016, following the annual user's day of LSBB that was hold on May 31st. i-DUST 2016 welcomed 62 participants from Canada, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Portugal, Rwanda and United Kingdom. Several topics related to underground science were discussed in five sessions: “Geological reservoirs”, “Couplings”, “Particles detection and measurement”, “Microelectronics materials, devices and systems”, “Biology”, plus an additionnal session for “open fields”. Out of 39 presentations including 4 invited talks, 19 publications were reviewed and accepted for publication in E3S Web of Conferences. They are all accessible in open access from this page. For this i-DUST edition, all talks from the different topics were mixed within each session to facilitate the interactions associated to inter-disciplinary science, which was much appreciated by attendees. Next i-DUST 2018 conference is planned in Provence on spring 2018, either in Avignon or in another town around LSBB, maybe Cadarache or Aix-en-Provence. We are looking forward for your contribution and attendance.
